The day is finally here! We have the final nominations.
First of all, we want to thank you all for participating. We’ve had much more votes and registers than we could have ever expected. Over 1000 people decided to participate in the TV Geeks Awards so… thanks!
As we, the Academy, see it, these are quite logical results if we think about the nature of these awards. The audience is the one that it’s voting so It’s normal that the most popular shows presence is quite notable.
However, it shocked us that a lot of users focused the votes in their most favorite series. There are some shows results that prove how intense fans of certain shows didn’t stop and think about what they were voting. Like “Ok, my fav show deserves to be nominated to the best drama series but… ¿Does the leading actress deserve it?”
This kind of pro-show movements made a room for some candidates we didn’t expect and left out others that we were pretty sure that the users would have appreciated. It seems that some shows or actors are doomed to never be nominated or awarded by any kind of organization.
Leaving this not-judgmental or critic comment, it’s time to show you the pre-nomination results. You will be able to start voting from September 11th and this time you should really think about it because you’ll have just one vote for each category. Join Now!

Bimbos have always been there for me, through thick and thin-mostly thin. B-man don’t do thick crust, what up!” (Barney)
- LOST – Okay. See, we did crash, but it was on this crazy island. And we waited for rescue, and there wasn’t any rescue. And there was a smoke monster, and then there were other people on the island. We called them the Others, and they started attacking us. And we found some hatches, and there was a button you had to push every 108 minutes or… well, I was never really clear on that. But… the Others didn’t have anything to do with the hatches. That was the DHARMA Initiative. The Others killed them, and now they’re trying to kill us. And then we teamed up with the Others because some worse people were coming on a freighter. Desmond’s girlfriend’s father sent them to kill us. So we stole their helicopter and we flew it to their freighter, but it blew up. And we couldn’t go back to the island because it disappeared, so then we crashed into the ocean, and we floated there for a while until a boat came and picked us up. And by then, there were six of us… (Hurley)
- SUPERNATURAL – “And that Sam is exactly why our lives suck. I mean come on, we hunt monsters. What the hell? Normal people, they see a monster and they run, not us. No, no, no we search out things that want to kill us, yeah, huh, or eat us. You know who does that? Crazy people. We are insane.” (Dean)

It’s a cryin’ shame David Tennant’s not nommed for Best Actor for Doctor Who. Seriously, watch him in last year’s Midnight and you’ll see. And HOW is Dollhouse’s Briar Rose not up for best writing? Bah. Bah, I say!
The Big Bang Theory – Sheldon Cooper & Penny – best TV couple!
So as a Brit I am pleased to see that ALL the non US nominations were British
BUT! If Johnny Galecki (Leonard), Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz) and Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh Koothrappali) all from The Big Bang Theory all come under the supporting actor catagory – then who the heck is the leading actor???
Helen: Jim Parson (Lead)
Yay! for Sheldon/Penny as best couple.
What about House/Cuddy though?
^ that would be Jim Parsons (Sheldon).
@Helen Stevens
Jim Parsons is the lead actor for the Big Bang Theory.
How the hell is Sheldon/Penny listed under best couple when they’re not a couple? When the show writers don’t want them to be a couple? When the actors don’t want them to be a couple? Aren’t there plenty of better canon couples that could be included?
Outstanding Comedy Series – The Big Bang Theory
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series – Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper) –The Big Bang Theory-
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – Kaley Cuoco (Penny) –The Big Bang Theory
OUtstanding writing for a Comedy Series-
The Big Bang Theory 2×18 The Work Song Nanocluster -> David Goetsch & Richard Rosenstock
Wow, geeks are into GOOD TV.
Honestly, these lineups are frakin’ awesome. You guys. You rock so much.
Strange that House didn’t get any nomm’s under Best Quote. And strange and Kayle Cuoco and Johnny Galeki are both under supporting actors. Otherwise the nominations are so spot on!
How is Ben a lead actor on Lost and John not?
David Duchovny rules!
Hank Moody rules! I ´ve never seen anything so funny like him.
Congrats for his nomination!
I miss “That’s what’s she said” in the best qoute nominations.
Shame there wasn’t a better quote for Battlestar Galactica – there are so many more awesome than that! But I very carefully did not vote just by series… just by inclination. But, it seems most of the categories in which BSG happened to make it through were categories in which I thought that nomination was the best of the list. I’m not voting by series only. I swear! *g*
Woo Hoo for Sheldon/Penny! I don’t care if they are not canon, they are where it is at!
