Mission

Those who are responsible of the most important television awards results, such as the Emmys or the Golden Globes, have shown year after year, the understable but debatable tendency of ignoring several emblematic TV shows that, not only have been applauded by the audience, but also praised by those critics who do watch television.

The everlasting feeling of injustice, and the conviction that the real value and quality of a scripted television show just could be justified, measured and awarded after watching the entire production, were the motivations to create The Television Geeks Academy.

So, the main objective of this Academy is to give well deserved appreciation to these shows from those worldwide viewers who had access to them one way or another. This is a off-system appreciation with no economic, labor, personal or institutional pressures; a practice of absolute and transparent democracy guaranteed by a simple vote process which only requirement is to have internet access.

The Annual Television Geeks Academy Awards are, to this end, a reward derived from the respect that shows, cast and creators deserve and will make possible value them. That respect is born from the complete watch of the work as it was created: season after season and episode after episodes and following the characters and plots progress and development. These are an awards created by fans for fans to acknowledge the world’s best TV Scripted Shows and the main aim is to make public the audiences opinion.
